Q: What is the difference between Web Story (AMP), Branded Story (NWS) and Web Story Ad (AMP) options?

A: We maintain our own proprietary story format (branded content), which is different from the AMP web story format. The purpose of this format is to enable experimental features, that may never be possible with Web Stories (AMP).

The web stories (AMP) format is generally more appropriate for editorial content with regard to search engines and discovery while branded stories (NWS) is better fit for branded stories allowing for more engagement via social cards, shoppable scenes and such.

Web Story Ads (AMP) are full screen, single page ads that appear within Web Stories (AMP). Advertisers/ Publishers can invite users to a web page, an AMP page or an App with a single tap. A story ad has a rich, flexible canvas that allows images, videos, animations or a combination of all those elements.
Story ads are supported by Google Ad Manager and Google DV360 (Beta) with additional ad server support coming soon.
